Next, carefully pry the battery out of its socket by lifting up on the side that is closest to the key-ring loop. Make sure that you use rubber gloves to protect the contacts or the clips.

Once the battery has been removed, insert the new one in its socket. Make sure that the positive side of the battery is facing upwards, and the clips are all seated. Then slide the cover back towards the key-ring loop section until it loosens and slides off. Then, lift the cover to reveal the key blade hidden inside. How to Start Your Vehicle

By pressing the unlock button, you will disable the alarm and unlock the driver's side door. Pressing it a second time will unlock all doors and the tailgate. The unlock button can also be used to open the windows on an extremely hot day or to let in fresh air before stepping out on the road. Note: Certain older Volvo models have different types of batteries which is the CR2025. CR2025 batteries are 7 tenths of a millimeter thinner than a CR2032 battery, so you must be aware of the location of the replacement.
